Cizojazyčný popis

This specification describes the requirements for Ultra-low Level Liquid Scintillation Spectrometer (hereinafter referred to as ‘the System’) to be installed at IAEA Radiometrics laboratory (RML), Monaco. The System will be primarily used for measurements of tritium, but also for Sr-90, C14 and other radionuclides of interest in aqueous samples. In particular, the System shall be aimed at obtaining the lowest possible detection limits for tritium by means of liquid scintillation counting to support RML activities related to environmental monitoring and Fukushima ALPS-treated water discharges. The System is required to enhance and modernize RML low-level measurement capabilities and to ensure RML’s continuous support to the IAEA counterparts in environmental monitoring and data corroboration activities. The System will provide a backup and eventually a replacement with equivalent or higher performance for aging Quantulus 1220 liquid scintillation spectrometers which are currently in use at RML. The System shall be installed at IAEA Radiometrics laboratory in Monaco. -- This specification describes the requirements for an Ultra-low Level Liquid Scintillation Spectrometer (hereinafter referred to as ‘the System’) to be procured in the framework of a PUI project. The System shall be used at the Marshall Islands Marine Resources Authority (MIMRA) Radiation Laboratory (hereinafter referred to as ‘the End-User’). The System is required to develop capabilities for radionuclide analyses in the newly commissioned laboratory and the capacity to perform environmental monitoring and data corroboration activities coordinated by IAEA Radiometric Laboratory (Monaco). The System will be primarily used for measurements of tritium but may also be used for measurements of Sr-90, C-14 and other radionuclides of interest in aqueous samples. In particular, the System shall be aimed at obtaining the lowest possible detection limits for tritium by means of liquid scintillation counting in order to support the project's objective of evaluating potential environmental impacts in the Pacific Islands from the discharge of Fukushima ALPS-treated water. Since tritium levels in this region are expected to be very low, a device with an ultra-low detection limit is necessary to test that status and to establish a reliable baseline of tritium activity levels in the region, ensuring a foundation for long-term continuous monitoring. Furthermore, aligning with the instrumentation and methods used at RML would ensure comparability of the results, and simplify the knowledge transfer, sharing of operating procedures, as well as the provision of training, troubleshooting and maintenance, which is particularly important given the remote location of these laboratories. The System shall be installed at the MIMRA Radiation Laboratory in Majuro, Marshall Islands.
